The Index to Ships in Books can be a great resource for promoting your titles in maritime and naval history.
Many amateur and professional historians and researchers come to this site to find out where they can learn more about a specific vessel. This site gives them specific information about the content of specific books, and guides them to seek out those particular titles. Please consider joining other publishers who have included their titles in this resource.
Please note that I do not reprint any part of the text of your book, except for necessary explanations about terminology or annotations in the index. I only include the ship names that are listed in the index of a specific title. I'm not reprinting the valuable textual content of your titles, just the fact that a vessel name is mentioned in a title. This will tell researchers that the ship they're researching is mentioned in your title, and they'll then want to track down the text itself.
For this project, I am only seeking non-fiction titles with significant listings of individual ship names. If you have fiction titles with a maritime bent, please see my discussion below of my planned Bibliography of Sea Fiction and Sea Narratives.
For publishers who provide me with a copy of their book, I provide a link to the publisher's web page, or wherever you prefer. If you also provide me with an electronic version of the index, I'll be able to process the data much, much quicker, and obviously with a much greater level of accuracy.
Please consider sending me a copy of your maritime and naval
titles. You'll be reaching those most interested in purchasing your
maritime-related titles, and including them in a growing bibliography
of maritime and naval titles.

Bibliography of Sea Fiction and Sea Narratives - I intend a future project of an update to Myron Smith's Sea Fiction Guide of 1976. The guide will focus on fiction works with a strong maritime theme, and narrative, non-fiction works describing an individual's experience at sea or on the water. The latter titles will generally be autobiographical. Because this work will be comprehensive, I am actively collecting titles to include in it, and therefore welcome review copies of appropriate works. I assure all publishers and authors that every title I receive will be carefully reviewed and every work that matches the parameters described above will be included in the final product. Relevant titles can be sent to the address above.
