I eventually determined there were a number of problems in the index. Many diacritics were not presented correctly in the index, though they were done correctly in the text. Those were pretty easy to identify and fix. However, there were other problems: ships that ended in "Kellogg" in the text were listed as ending in "Kellog" in the index, for instance. With the text in hand, I corrected the ones that I could, but I expect I missed many others.

This volume includes many, many images in it, but they're not noted in the index, so there's no way of indicating them here.
