As in several other very early NRS volumes, ship names are mixed in with other entries in the index, and can really only be noted by the phrase ", the," after them, as in "Lancaster, the," on page 81. But other items, most notably geographic locations, are similarly cited, as in "Nore, the," on multiple pages. Then there are some truly confusing ones -- usually plurals -- such as "Cardinals, the". If I wasn't certain that the entry was for a geographic location, I left it in. This may have added a few non-ships to the database, but in case the citations were for ships, rather than for locations, I felt it was worth the risk.
