News Of the Day (1855-1856; via Accessible Archives' Civil War Newspapers Collection). Malvern, PA: Accessible Archives,

Ship names were located through a customized database search method, and almost certainly missed some of the ship names. Identifying data was added to the ship name when possible; this often included the ship's rig or type (though the terms used here were generally the ones used in the article; their definitions may have changed through the years), the Captain's name (when present), and occasionally information about the ship's activities or other notes. The year of publication is also included in the citation.

The links provided will take you directly to the article in question in Accessible Archive's database, if you have access to that database via an institutional subscription, such as through a public or academic library. You can also purchase individual access to the database, but links won't be quite as direct, unfortunately. A bit more information about the Accessible Archives database appears in ShipIndex's description of Accessible Archives, and the "Find in a Library" there link will locate some libraries that subscribe to the Civil War Newspapers database.
