Institutional Sales
ShipIndex.org is a great tool for libraries and museums. As a librarian-run company, we are very library-friendly, and will do whatever we can to make our database work for you. We fully support EZproxy, OpenAthens, LIRN, LibLynx, and other authentication tools. In addition to these commercial solutions, we can implement referring URL linking, library card authorization, and other solutions for institutional access.
ShipIndex is excited to work with W.T. Cox as a subscription agent for institutions that prefer that path. For libraries that offer extensive resources to genealogists, W.T. Cox has several genealogy-related database bundles. Libraries can either work with W.T. Cox or contact us directly – whichever you prefer.
The database is an inexpensive but incredibly valuable tool for any library that supports genealogists, local history, world history, military history, and much more. Setup is easy and quick. Usage data is available upon request. Institutional members can display customized messages on the ShipIndex site, such as honoring those who have provided financial support to make access to the database possible.
ShipIndex offers free access to all Full members of the Council of American Maritime Museums. If your institution is a CAMM member, please contact us directly, at sales@shipindex.org, to see how we can get access set up for you.
If you would like to set up a trial, contact W.T. Cox or fill out the form below, and let us show you how ShipIndex can help your patrons learn more about their ancestors and the maritime world around them.
